This family-friendly kayaking tour starts in a famous Maum, at Belanabrack River Pier, where we get ready for a tour. You are prepared with a warm-up, all instructions, and precautions needed to get started. The journey starts at the Belanabrack River Channel from where we head towards Corrib Lake. We take our time to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Connemara landscapes and mountains. During the break at the Castle, we hear more about its history and legends. After taking well-deserved rest and eating the snacks, we are ready for the return paddle.

Family Friendly

The easy kayaking tour is how you want to spend a family day out. We offer a free seat in double sit on top kayak (middle seat ) for children aged 4-5. They can seat between your legs too if you feel like it.

Professional Guide

Professional and experienced Instructors are passionate about Connemara and outdoor sports. Kayaking, SUP, Hiking, Mountain Biking, or Surfing are a part of their everyday life, just to name a few.

Trip Itinerary - this is only a brief. We arrange time of the tour that suits our clients individually, and to make the most from the weather.

The tour takes approximately 4 hours.

Example : X.00 AM/PM - Meeting at Bealnabrack Pier - Maum
Warm up. Instructions, guidance and precautions given.
X:30 AM/PM - Start of the tour
A little practice of paddling techniques on the river close to the pier, after which we start kayaking towards Corrib Lake.
X.30 - X.00 PM - Guided Tour towards Castle Kirk
Depending on the direction of the wind the Paddle to the Castle can take us from 1 hour to 2 hours each way. In case of sudden change of the weather the instructor may need to call for a faster return.
X:00 PM - Lunch
Picnic on the Island. A little talk about its history and legends. Take your snack with you and enjoy the rest before return to Maum.
X:30 - X.00 PM - Return Paddling
Beautiful view during our return kayaking over MaamTurks Mountains. If it is an evening paddle you may experience a stunning sunset, as we head towards the West.
